9/23/81 Dobie Vandalized


Vandals who gained entrance to Dobie High School at approximately 3 a.m. Tuesday left a trail of broken glass and damaged Longhorn paraphernalia and equipment throughout the school. The Dobie mascot, in left photo, was partially destroyed. Tuesday morning Dobie associate principal Lucas Vegas, at right, and students clean up his office which had been hit by the vandals. No assessment of damages was available at press time, but Houston police are investigating. The destruction at the school extended to typewriters and film projectors which were completely destroyed. The school's phone system, a science lab, the school's freedom room and journalism room were also destroyed.
