1977 South Belt Traffic Woes

In 1976 13692 cars per day traveled this little stretch from the Gulf Freeway South Belt exit to Hughes-Sabo.

In 1977, that number jumped to 15791.

The planned project to finish Scarsdale over Beamer could take 3 years, and with growth estimates, that would result in a tally of nearly 25,000 cars on the same stretch by 1980.
