9/6/67 Sagemont

The last couple of photographs purchased for the Archive were from negatives still in their order envelope from Photocolor of Houston, Inc. Bob Bailey Studios is crossed out and Ayreshire Corp is handwritten in the "Customer Name" blank.

Ayreshire had contracted Bailey Studios to drive out and shoot what turned out to be 8 photos of their new development, called Sagemont. Per his ledger, he did so on September 6, 1967. Two of them were released to a Mr. McNeil on the 13th.

Most of the photos are of houses on a street, but a couple at the end were of the entrance at the South Belt exit, with brick and iron work fencing and gas lamps, announcing your entry into Sagemont.

And sort of as an afterthought, was a photo of the pretty, new elementary school built behind the rows of tidy new houses.

Look at that sparkling blacktop with those fantastic cars. And not a tree to speak of larger than a sapling. Everything was brand new.
