9/23/14 Aiding Flood Victims in Brownsville

Gene Sims, in a relatively new Sagemont Baptist Sanctuary, early 80s.

Updated 10/29/14

Gene Sims and Joy Hubbard lend their help to flood victims in Brownville. Sagemont Baptist Church and Long John Silver's Seafood Shoppe on Fuqua collected bags of groceries and clothing for victims, many with low income and no insurance. Supplies were transported through the assistance of Randy Pennington, state representative of District 130, and Jack Meyers, director of the Sagemeadow Municipal Utility District.

9/20/14 Mystery Photo: American Legion Team, Post 490, 1978

A million thanks to Mr. Jerry Wilbanks, Sr. for helping me get information together on these guys. He kept an amazing file on Quincy's career.

American Legion, Post 490: The team was a make-up of the best boys from Dobie/South Houston schools. The two coaches, center front row, are two dads of players: Mr.  Trojanowski, dad of Walter (Dobie) and Mr. Yerkes, dad of Ricky (South Houston).

The picture above may have been taken after the team sewed up the Southern region and was headed for the World Series next.
