6/26/93 A Knight to Remember

21 Years ago today. . .

Knight Proposes Marriage

Lauretta Ferguson of Kirkmont never dreamed her marriage proposal would come from the "Knight in Shining Armor." Jim Massicott of Sagemont had planned for 10 years just how he would propose when he found the right girl.

The couple knew each other at Dobie High School but never dated. A year ago they began dating but had not seriously discussed marriage.

Having invited Ferguson to dinner June 25 to celebrate his possible job promotion, Massicot arrived on horseback, appropriately dressed, with engagement ring in hand.

A former San Jacinto College South student, the bride-to-be is the daughter of Neva and Tommy Ferguson. She is employed with GDS Engineers in Texas City.

The prospective groom, son of Doris an Andre Massicott, attended San Jacinto College and Sam Houston State University. He is employed with Health Consultants Inc near Hobby Airport.

A summer '94 wedding is planned at St. Luke's Catholic Church.

Guessing the newspaper was off by a day, since Lauretta would probably know better that today was the actual day ;)
