The New Vaudeville Pizza House on Hughes Rd.

1985, Safeway is gone, Eckerds is gone, but Vaudeville remains! (but not for long...)

Earlier, in the 70s, the parking lot was a popular place for pumpkin patches, when Safeway was still around:

Most people fondly recall the root beer in frosted glasses, sitting in the darkened theater room watching  the old 3 Stooges clips, Heckel and Jeckel, Mighty Mouse, live action Superman and Batman, Betty Boop, all in black and white. There was a slightly better lit front room with arcade games lining the wall.

It was THE spot to hang out after Thompson junior high football games.

And every girl scout troop in the area had to do at least one trip to make their own pizzas.

(and, ignoring the whole reason for the picture above, there's the sign on Hughes, right in front of the Eckerd Drug sign.)
