Dobie Yearbook Roundup #1: Mrs. Rose Marie White, Cosmetology

Kicking off a series today of subjects rounded up (pun intended) from the Dobie Yearbooks that lasted from the earliest days of the South Belt area through the arrival of the Beltway.

For sanity's sake, because I like round numbers, and because there is a five year gap in the yearbook photos available online, I stuck to the first twenty volumes of the Round Up, from I to XX, ending with 1988.

Our first subject is one of the original Dobie teachers that began the year the doors opened, in the fall of 1968.

Mrs. Rose Marie White, sweetest woman on the planet, taught the cosmetology classes for the entire twenty yearbooks and seems to have retired shortly thereafter. (A new cosmetology teacher appears in the next available 1994 book.)

Part of the fun of these surveys across two decades is the changes in fashion and hairstyles, and Mrs. White, as a hair stylist, is a perfect example!

The only book in which her photo does not appear at all is in 1980, but the coverage of the Cosmetology group shows she's still there:
