Groundbreaking ceremonies will be held at 1 p.m., Friday for the $43.5 million Memorial Hospital medical complex to be constructed on an 87-acre tract on Beamer Road adjacent to the south boundary of San Jacinto College South. The proposed facility will replace the 235-bed Memorial Hospital Southeast, now located on Belfort. Scheduled to open in the fall of 1986, the new facility will include a four-story, 270-bed hospital, an energy dispatch building, a professional building and a surgicenter.
